3 Personal Branding Experts you Should be Following on Social Media

Every Wednesday at 10:30 am, branding consultant, Hermione Way, tunes into Facebook Live on Future of Real Estate’s Facebook Group to give away her own tips and tricks on how to grow your online profile. You might be asking yourself – who the hell is Hermione Way and why should I care what she has to say about personal branding?

We’re glad you asked.

One way to answer your question is to google her name. While a lot pops up, two headlines that probably stick out the most are “Star of Bravo Show Start-Ups: Silicon Valley” or, our personal favorite, Harry Styles Comforted Himself with Startups Star Hermione Way.” Hermione has gone from 0-half a million followers but she will be the first to say, this did not happen overnight.

In the last 10 years, Hermione has dedicated her time to cultivating and maintaining this following by perfecting the art of personal branding. To put things into perspective, she says she’s not gone a single day in the last decade without posting something online. And while many of us couldn’t imagine ever having this many followers, Hermione says that compared to a lot of other people out there, this number is not as high as it sounds.

Even after dedicating a ton of time to grow her brand (mixed with being a former reality TV personality and hanging out with Richard Branson in a hot tub), she admits building a personal brand is not as easy it looks. Despite the challenge, Hermione is a leading example of how working on your personal branding is one muscle all realtors should be flexing if they want to succeed in the industry.

In the real estate world, Hermione points to LA realtor, Edward Hutchinson, as a great example of someone who has risen to the top thanks to social media marketing and brand building. “This guy is completely revolutionizing the model of real estate.” She’s right. Ed and his real estate partner, David, have taken the stale and boring realtor story and made it into something interesting and fun. Lastly, Hermione points to Gary Vaynerchuk (“Gary Vee”) as another great personal branding role model. “He’s doing the hustle and just does not give a crap about what anyone thinks,” Hermione points out. At the end of the day, she urges her listeners to simply own it –  i.e. be your own personal branding guru, start posting your own content and make yourself the leader in your industry.

And know that while it might take 10 years to grow to half a million followers, anything worth having doesn’t come overnight! Just. Start.
